“I hunger for the kind of joy that lingers blissfully in my soul, even long after the day is done - after the wine stained glasses and (Nanna's old) dessert bowls are washed and stacked away. After the cream candle wax has set and our friends have travelled back west. In the morning when I wake, my eyes are tired but my heart is full(er than my coffee cup). I like to call it a joy hangover, for it spills over and stays, graciously – residing in me and carrying me tenderly into the days that lie ahead. Urgent and exciting, the world can demand much of me. Much of us. But living lightly with friends (while still pursuing a beautiful sort of depth) will always be the ultimate remedy. It's the lifeline God has thrown to me. I'm required only to reach out, cherish and drink up the medicine, joyfully.”
